Want to stop playing like a clueless noob, save your rare items, and build a winning team? Upgrade stones are very hard to get, so do not waste them on bad monsters. First, check our Ultimate Evomon Tier List to see the best monsters. Then come back here to give them the best stats!
We split these 10 best tips into three levels. Find your level below and dominate the server!
Beginner Basics (For New Players)
If you just started the game and don't know what Traits do, read these first!
Never Ignore the Colors of Your Traits
Traits are passive stat boosts for your monsters. They come in different colors like grey, blue, purple, and gold. A gold trait can give you up to +20% or +35% extra stats for free. Always check your monster's trait page the moment you hatch or catch them!
Match Your Trait with the Monster's Job
Never put a damage trait on a tank, and never put a defensive trait on a glass-cannon. The biggest mistake noobs make is keeping a purple defensive trait on a main attacker just because it looks "rare." If the stat doesn't help the monster's main job, it is trash.
"Brawler" is the Best Friend for Free Players (F2P)
You do not need to spend real money to get a good team. If you roll Brawler (+15% Attack, +10% HP), keep it! It has zero downsides and naturally hits hard enough to outclass many expensive cash-shop setups. It is perfect for budget carries like Astraknight.
Pro Battle Strategy (For PvP & Sweat Lords)
If you want to climb the ranked ladder and build a team with zero weak points, use these tactical setups!
"Mythical" is the Ultimate All-Rounder God
If you roll the Mythical trait, stop rolling immediately! It gives a flat +20% boost to all stats (HP, Attack, and Defense) with zero downsides. It is the best general trait for hyper-carries like Terragon or Lavarock to make them totally broken.
Turn Your Tanks into "Giants"
For frontline meat shields like Chitaladin, you absolutely want the Giant trait. It boosts your monster's HP by +35% and makes them huge. A Giant tank can stand first on the field, absorb massive enemy ultimate attacks, and safely charge up your team's energy bars.
Abuse "Glass Cannon" from the Backup Slot
The Glass Cannon trait gives a massive +30% Attack but cuts -15% Defense. Don't be scared of the defense drop! Put this on a high-damage background attacker like Volcrest. Hide them in your 2nd or 3rd slot, then switch them in to surprise-attack and delete the enemy health bar in one hit.
Speed Wins Games, Use "Tiny" for Control
In Evomon, the faster monster always hits first. The Tiny trait shrinks your monster but gives a huge +25% Speed boost. This is perfect for control monsters like Frostseer. It guarantees you get the first turn to freeze-lock the enemy carry before they can even touch you.
Resource Management (For Hardcore Grinders)
If you are running out of items and want to save your account from going broke, follow these rules!
Use the "Wild Catch" Trick to Save Reroll Potions
Reroll Potions are super rare and hard to get. Don't waste 20 potions on one bad monster! Go and catch multiple copies of the same Evomon in the wild first (like 5 wild Emfoxes). Check their natural traits for free, find one with a good start, and only use potions on that one.
Wipe Out "Lazy" and "Fragile" Traits Immediately
Some traits are pure "noob traps" that debuff your monsters. Lazy cuts your Speed by 15%, making you move last and die before you can attack. Fragile cuts your HP and turns your monster into paper. Use a potion to wipe them out instantly!
Reroll Your Trait Before You Max Your Level
Traits scale with your base stats. It is much easier to test a monster's true battle power in PvP if you fix their trait early. Lock in your Mythical or Giant trait first, then dump your level fruits into them to see their stats skyrocket perfectly!
